About the Program

The Ph.D. in Tamil program promotes advanced research in language, literature, and cultural studies, enabling scholars to engage in critical analysis, original research, and academic inquiry that contribute to the preservation and advancement of Tamil scholarship.

Literary and Linguistic Research

The programme encourages in-depth research in classical and modern Tamil literature, linguistics, and cultural studies. Scholars develop critical perspectives, research methodology skills, and academic writing competence necessary for original contributions to Tamil studies.

Academic Research Development

Research scholars are guided in proposal development, scholarly documentation, and publication-oriented research. The programme supports systematic inquiry and intellectual rigor, preparing scholars for academic, research, and cultural leadership roles.
